Honour Roll: December 2009

Big changes in the Honour Roll top ten this week. Average points per learner are up. New faces include adalbertolito, elizwa, Learner25, and Sun_City. Dilemme, a former Honour Roll champion is back in the top ten. And the rock solid Steve, YutakaM, and jeff_lindqvist hold their ground.

LingQ would like to make a special mention of our number one this week, Ejlife, who represents a group of students and their teacher. We encourage all teachers to make use of LingQ in any way that fits their needs. However the Honour Roll, as an individual award, goes this week to Maitee. Congratulations!

This is the season for making New Year's resolutions. At the beginning of the calendar year, everyone feels ready to improve their personal situation, whether it be getting into better physical shape, doing better financially, or improving their minds. LingQ definitely will improve your mind. And in today's global economy, it will probably help you get a better job too. And if you listen to your LingQ podcasts while you exercise, who knows, it might help you get fit! Happy New Year everyone! Keep LingQing!

Honour Roll October 2009

This month Osirius is a new arrival in the Honour Roll with a very impressive 8th place. VeraI and ToneN have moved up significantly to 3rd and 4th place respectively. Ejlife and nobuo are consistently among the top ten. But the big story this month is crowderd coming out of nowhere to take top spot. Nice work!

In the Northern Hemisphere, November is time for shorter days, waiting for the Christmas holidays, and staying warm and dry. Lets use the indoor time profitably by LingQ-ing our way onto the Honour Roll and getting points rewards! For those 'down under', enjoy the spring and keep LingQ-ing!.

Honour Roll: September, 2009

Skyblueteapot has rocketed into the top five from fifteenth last month. VeraI is back in top form and stronger than ever. Annett has also quietly moved into the top ten after finishing out of the Honour Roll in August. However the story again is Dilemme. He maintains his number one spot for the fourth month running. But his lead is not quite as dominant as it used to be with ejlife, from Taiwan, coming up close behind. 

October will be the end of the ninth month of Obama's term in office and will round out the anniversary of his election. Whatever side we supported at the time, we should be involved politically in our communities to promote well-being for all. Learning languages is one of the best ways to break down barriers in communication. Let's get motivated to learn more for the good of society as a whole.

Honour Roll: August, 2009

Learners from Asia make up a lot of the new top ten entries in the August Honour Roll.  Dilemme, the new power user at LingQ, keeps his number one position. Ejlife takes second. Steve, the lone Canadian, powers into third place. Ymoteki comes from nowhere to take fourth. And Cantotango takes up residence in the top five. Thanks again to jeff_lindqvist and all the rest of the LingQ Honour Roll regulars for rounding out the top ten.

Back in the saddle is the theme for September. We are getting into a new school year. Let's use the memories of back-to-school to get back-to-LingQ. One challenge I present is to think of ways that you can use your LingQ account to study your regular college courses, or if you are working, to handle technical documents that may require attention to detail.   Let's all enjoy the fall back-to-LingQ energy!

The Olympics are over, and the gold goes to... darbanville by a very wide margin. She is a hard act to follow, but we are happy to see a couple of new names in the top five: robg from Japan and most impressively, Johanne from Canada. Leie92 remains in the top 5 while the usually dominant Irene777 is having a little vacation this month. I am sure she will be back in the saddle in September.

The Dutch Dominate!
For the second month in a row, a member from Holland is the Learner of the Month. This month darbanville makes the leap to 1st place on the Activity List from 17th place last month. Truus., last month's winner, also from the Netherlands came in a close second. Congratulations to you both and to all of you on the Honour Roll!

Honour Roll: May 2008

Having come very close to being the Learner of the Month a few times, we are glad to see Truus finally come out on top in May. Truus, who is from Holland, had an Activity Score of 3812 and just edged out last month's winner, Loby. Congratulations to Truus who will be receiving a prize of 1000 points for her efforts. Well done, all of you on the Honour Roll this month!

This month we are pleased to crown a new Learner of the Month. After 5 months at the top, Nancy77 has given way to Loby from Poland. Congratulations, Loby! You will receive an award of 1000 points for your achievement. Honourable mention goes to Truus, radoslaw, asierra and Irene777 for rounding out the top 5 and to all the rest of you who made the top 25.
